The author teaches us to recognize our habits good and bad. How to identify our bad ones as they occur and how to defeat them by determining what triggers them, how we react to them and by identifying the rewards we feel by succumbing to them.
In order to modify a habit, we must decide to change it. We must consciously accept the hard work of identifying the cues and rewards that drive the habit's routines, and find alternatives. We must know that we have control and be self-conscious enough to use it.
Habits are the unthinking choices and invisible decisions that surround us every day - and which, just by looking at them, CAN become visible again.
I couldn't put this book down. I loved that this book would jump from one supporting story to another, but stories that came from completely different sides of the spectrum and real history.
